Meet The Loan's...

I'm sure you will get to know our family as the blog continues to grow.  I will add stories of how we met & how our lives have welded together, but in the meantime here's a brief introduction to the three of us.  The Loan Family.

Travis:  Bio:  30 years old.  Born in Harrisonburg, VA.  In Alternative Energy sales.  Entrepreneur of two business.

Head of our household as my wonderfully amazing husband.  He has a total sanguine / choleric personality according to Florence Littauer and her book Personality Plus.  (amazing read).  Most outgoing and funny human being you will ever meet as long as you don't mind a practical joke every now and again :).  The thing I love most about him is his heart...he is such a GIVER and has a huge passion to help OTHERS.    He loves the Lord and is fulfilling his destiny through his every day actions - I am truly proud of him and his personal testimony.  He has a 'daddy's little girl' and I adore watching him with Briley - all in all an outstanding father.  Have I mention how hot he is?!  Seriously - tall, dark, handsome.  Glad he is MINE.

Corri:  Bio:  27 years old.  Born in Washington, D.C.  In food & beverage sales.  Assistant to the CEO (the hubs) of 2 blossoming businesses.

Well that's me (love my name by the way.  It suits me perfectly.  Short for Corrine Louise (after my grandmother and great-grandmother).  Kind of hard to write about myself....oh, who am I kidding! ;)  I am a fun-loving, happy-go-lucky kind of gal.  Absolutely love to live life to the fullest and make a party out of everything.  Travis and I share the same sanguine characteristics (always the dynamic duo wherever life takes us), but I also bring a little organization to the team while he takes the lead.  I am very detailed which is why everything I do is over-the-top!  Not bragging - just sharing some of my stronger qualities (we like to focus on the positive here people)!  I also share a love of reaching out in the community and beyond and offering hope - we love doing what we do together!

Briley:  Bio: 5 years old.  Born in Harrisonburg, VA.  Into talking her parents into whatever she wants (and getting it for the most part).  Little helper in our business world.

Our daughter.  She was 13 months when Travis and I got married.  I jumped right into wife and mommy land all in the same day - wow!  What a whirlwind it was as we got things adjusted and welllllllll worth it.  This girl has a blended personality from all of her parents - funny, smart, shining, sweet.  She loves to dance, cheer, sing - basically anything that involves all eyes on her while she performs.  A little shy at first, but once she gets to know you - WATCH OUT.  A very well-behaved and beautiful little lady that will sleep anywhere as long as she has her thumb to suck. :)

Rosie:  (I think that's her name).  This is our turtle.  We are a terrible pet family.  In all honesty, Briley and I most of the time forget we have a small animal living in a tank in our home.  I will sometimes call for Travis and he replies, "I'm cleaning out the turtles living quarters."  And I am quickly reminded that I have not fed that little green thing in weeks.  I'm pretty sure Travis is keeping up with it though - told you he was amazing.  We had a dog (for about 6 months)...way to much work, way to much, and we thought best to give her to a family that was more attentive and loving and not so consumed with the human world.

**Don't have a picture of little Rosie and it's not on my top list of priorities to get done either.  A family picture will suffice.

The Name - PoshPiggies&Pumpkin

POSH.  (päs̸h)  adjective
DEF.:  classy: elegant and fashionable.  Associated with the upper classes; Stylish, elegant, exclusive (expensive).  luxurious.
*Side note.  At one point a couple of years ago, I had the short dark hair just like Victoria Beckham (aka as POSH)...given the description fits me to a Tee ;) AND I had the hair, it just seemed fitting that posh be my nickname.  LOVED it.

PIGGIES.  Well it starts with the two of us.  Travis and Corri.  Otherwise known as BABE and BABE to all of our friends, family, co-workers, random shoppers in Target, etc.  We have always been 'babe' to the other since circa 1997.  Another word for babe - pig.  Another word for pig - piggie.  LOVE it.  Piggies are so cute and pink (well the ones I like are pink and I love pink)...we are on a roll here!  Plus I love, love, love to eat - just like a piggie.  And actually pigs are very clean (just like me).  I came to the conclusion that this would be a perfect part of a blog name.  I took it upon my self to look up a couple piggie facts:  Pigs are very social animals. They form close bonds with each other and other species. Pigs enjoy close contact and will lie close together when resting.  Ok this is kind of weird how much babe and I are correlating with the pig species.  Well, all except this fact I found, A pig can run a 7 minute mile.  AHAHAHAH - now that I CANNOT do.

'BABE' Travis and 'BABE' Corri :)

future 'babes' we will have

a POSH pig - hahaha

PUMPKIN.  Oh, this was oh so easy.  Our little Briley girl has affectionately been referred to Pumpkin in our house for forever!!  In fact, if we call her by her given name, she sometimes gets upset and says, "you call me pumpkin."  Other spin off nicknames from the original pumpkin include:  punkin, punky, punks, punky doodle bug.  She brings a joy to our life everyday - we find such delight in her - she is my cute little pumpkin - always has been, always will be.  <3

And So It Begins...

Well, here I am.  Beginning a blog.  Why?  Because in my opinion (humble, but accurate) I have the most adorable little family in all the land (as do you :).  It is important me to me to document the "glitter" of everyday life and I can accomplish that here.  I had started a paper journal several months ago of cute stories of our 5-year old, but with only 3 entries, I thought maybe something web-based would be better as I can type waaay faster than I can write.  And, I get to add pictures - which of course, makes all the difference!!  I have heard that 'these blog things' can be turned into scrapbooks through popular sites like www.shutterfly.com and www.blurb.com (and I just love that idea)!  Growing up I had parents that were fantastic at capturing our life stories through pictures and video and now I do that too and I'm excited about adding another dimension.  For our family, it's all about making memories. :)
